Must be. All these new hand cannons are designed to kill elephants.
Had a guy next to me at range with Desert Eagle .50
Digging up the turf about 12 feet out. So much flinch that the gun was diving when he started to THINK about yanking the trigger.
And the .500 S&W! Don't that look handy to pack all day?
:D
I spose a few can hit something, but the review I was reading on the S&W had the author recommending GLOVES before shootin it.

A while back there was a bill in Congress to change the current law which makes anything over .50 an NFA weapon. The bill would have made that anything over .38 caliber. ("Huge guns designed only to kill...")
About the same time, another genius Congressman introduced a bill to ban anything under .45 caliber ("Easily concealed, not suitable for hunting...")
Neither bill went anywhere, but they keep trying.

The late Nelson T. “Pete” Shields, the Founding Chair of Handgun Control, Inc., explained: “The first problem is to slow down the number of handguns being produced and sold in this country. The second problem is to get handguns registered. The final problem is to make possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition—except for the military, police, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors—totally illegal.”
—Richard Harris, “A Reporter at Large: Handguns,” The New Yorker, July 26, 1976, p. 58.
The object of the leftist extremists' game is to ban all private ownership of all firearms as soon as possible. If they could, they'd simply abolish the Second Amendment, then declare all firearms contraband except in military and police—and criminal, of course—hands. Since they can't get away with that, they're demonizing individual firearms and small classes of firearms to establish the precedent that some "extremely dangerous" firearms can and must be banned.

Neither bill went anywhere, but they keep trying. Neither went anywhere - - yet.
Sadly, over the years I've seen too many instances where clueless lawmakers make laws which contradict each other. Leaves us in a damned of you do, damned of you don't situation.

Wasnt there an amendment to the gun liability bill that would ban all guns that could fire a bullet that could penetrate soft body armor? That would pretty much have banned almost all of the rifles out there.

MrChicken NO it wasn't .T.K. tried to get it put on .He even named Grampa's 30-30 ammo. The requirement was for ANY ammo that would peirce a vest , which would efectivly leave the populace fully armed with no ammo after a few years .L.C. countered with a proposal for study . The study proposal did get tacked on . The whole point is moot for now because the bill is dead . But give mister vodka a chance and he will be back .

I wouldn't judge all big guns because that guy couldn't shoot one, all the articles I've read say the .454 Casull is accurate to 100 yards and more. I'll let you know when I get my .454 Tuesday, and yes I'm getting a glove! :)

The move is on to ban .50 BMG. I predict they will settle on writing the law around centerfire cartridges. It will sit in law for a few years then some yoyo will modify the and change it from .50 to to .308 centerfire. Then a few years later one more step down until we get to .22 rimfire only. Curiously 'enuf Feinstein has already played her hand and stated that is were she would be happy.

Your Varmint or Hunting rifle with 3x9 or higher powered scopes that you can sight-in to hit something at 300 yards with only a little holdover will become a sniper rifle, designed to specifically to kill people.
( Pardon my sarcasm above and below - :cuss: - )
That Sendero in 25-06 ( I think they make one ) you got for antelope hunting and mounted that 4x16 Leupold on? Why everyone knows synthetic stocks were developed to increase accuracy - to hit people farther away.
No one needs a gun that can kill at over 200 yards for hunting. That can rip a man's body open and pretty well guarantee that a single dum-dum placed near center of mass will result in such trauma that death is a near certainty.
