in 8mm (.323"); has anybody out there used them on game? I have heard them to be very accurate, but would like to know the results on game at 8x57 Mauser velocities. Thanks in advance !

I have loaded Barnes Bullets in 3 different rifles and one 9mm pistol. They have all been top performers regarding accuracy and terminal performance on game. I imagine the 8mm would be as good as any.

Worst and only bad thing I can say about Barnes is the cost. Heck, give a box a try.

me too and subscribing. I have two boxes in route. I was going to start with CFE, Big Game, AA2495, and W748.

I haven't used that particular chambering, but all the Barns I've loaded have been very good performers on game, and accurate too. But remember that copper projectiles are longer and seat deeper into the case,so they will generate high pressures than a typical jacketed projectile. Just work the charge around the projectile, and you'll find what your looking for without any pressure surprises.

Shot some 160gr TTSX/CFE223 loads from the M700 8x57mm today. Just worked from 49 grains (2675fps) to 52 grains (2877fps), which is two grains below Hodgden max. The 49gr load was the most accurate going .73". Next best was the 52gr load going about 1.5". I work with them some more.
