Check it out. (http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg121-e.htm) Finger-cocking mechanism. Huh.

Apparently, they've been watching a lot of Trigun (http://www.geocities.com/vash_tha_stampede/Un2.html).

As said above, the M 77B is a retarded blowback operated pistol with fixed barrel. The opening of the slide is retarded by the pressure of the gas, bleed from the barrel into the cylinder below it. The striker-fired mechanism is single action, with frame mounted safety on the left side of pistol. Frame and slide are made from carbon steel, grip panels are polymer. Front sight is fixed, the rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The finger cocking mechanism consists of the front part of the trigger guard, which is mounted on the slider. To cock the pistol (cycle the slide) single-handed one must pull the front of the trigger guard by the index finger and then release it. For me it was way too much effort to bother with.

Norinco imported a 9mm version before all their handguns were banned from import. I played with a 9mm version at a gun show and it was suprisingly slick.

There was also .25 and .32 "Einhand" auto pistols made in the early 20th century by "Lingnose" of Belgium (though I may be butchering that name).

It's not a new idea.

Norinco M-77 (http://www.marstar.ca/Norinco/M-77B.htm)

The M-77B is a value-packed 9mm pistol boasting an ergonomic design and a trigger guard slide cocking device reminiscent of the German Lignose pistol. It is currently in use by the P.R.C. police and related agencies.

I wish that Norinos were inported again...I'd jump all over their M-14 knockoff.

Isn't there only about 2 years left on the Norinco ban?

Interesting design, but I can see a potential problem depending on how the trigger guard cocking lever functions. I know some shooters (especially those with large hands) that get a high grip with their off hand and wrap their fingers around the front of the trigger guard. Depending on how the mechanism works, this may or may not pull the slide out of battery rendering the pistol inoperative.
