Normally I wouldn't bother to post such a question, but every mechanical thing in my environment is going on strike and not functioning, so I'm taking a short-cut ......

My Lee Safety Prime, after working fine for several years, now "defaults" to the forward, or priming position, instead of swinging back and resting in the rear-ward position, where it should be. That is when I move it forward, prime, and release it, it fails to swing back out of the way, as it should (and did).

Examining the mounting bracket and the part of the priming device that rests on it, I can't see anything wrong/new. I note there is a small plastic tab on the underside of the press-mounted plastic bracket, which looks like it is supposed to gently push the primer contraption back and up to its "out of the way" resting position. It's rigid plastic, so I don't think it could have "worn" or become too weak.

Anyone else experienced this problem, and what was the fix?

Not a show-stopper, but annoying - the primer device has to be moved out of the way each time after priming, and also slips back in the way during the expansion/powder drop and bullet seating operations.

It's nylon not plastic. Take it off and put in very hot water. It will soften the tap thing. Then bend it back to give it more "spring" stick it in ice water to cool and set it.

If this doesn't work. Take out your primer arm and clean it and the little cross pin in the ram side of ram insert etc.. Use q tips and solvent. NO oil.Shine a flashlight in that groove in the ram and see if it all gunked up,

Heck, do both.:)
