Hello everyone, I've placed this Dan Wesson 22lr on hold and wanted to gather your thoughts on it. Normally I collect Colts, so I know very little about them. Overall it's in nice shape, comes with a cardboard sleeve and styrofoam insert. No tools or manuals included, the box might not even be original to the gun. Overall condition is very nice, but it has a small rust mark on it that might polish out. The action and lockup is smooth and appears to have been fired very little. Priced at $499, it's not as nice as my 617 no dash, but it's also less $$$

Very nice guns. I've owned three of them over the years. About the only thing "wrong" with them is they are heavy for a 22. Not a big deal for a range gun, but a bit heavy for holster carry.
That's about the going price around here.

Very true that a 6VH Model 22 is a heavy gun, I like 4" better personally. Since it's built on the DW .357 mag frame, you can expect it to shoot forever in .22 lr with no issues, it's built like a rock.
$499 is a decent market price, not great.

Good one. I have a 722 like that that I shoot a lot. They get better with age and shooting. Congrads on a great choice!

I'm new to dan wesson, from what I'm finding it might just be the most under-rated gun I've come across... It's a shame in one way, but good for those of us who want to buy a truckfull of them

That is a .22 to be proud of... I am a huge Dan Wesson revolver fan. I got my first almost 20 years ago and have loved the since. I have never had the pleasure of the .22.while it isn't quite a unicorn, they are getting few and far between. I want a .22 Colt Diamondback pretty bad, but would take a DW like this anyday for the price difference.
Enjoy it, and give us a range report when you can....

I want a 22 Magnum, so BAD. They are very hard to come by at a decent price.

That does look to be in better than average and is a early serial number. With no tool its a little high for around here but man it looks nicer than mine. I have a 4" verison. You now have the best shooting .22lr revolver you could find. I am a little biased toward DW revolvers. I have 4 of them.
You most check out EWKarms and LB Customs for everthing DW. You can get your tool there.
Like the tool you need.- http://www.ewkarms.com/zen8/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=1

Nice. My Ruger Single Six now has barrel envy.

$377 is a great deal in that gun. Congrats!

Even though I am not a fan of DWs,,,
I would have snapped it up at that price.
I know the DWs are very good guns,,,
I just can't get past that squared off underlug.
They look to me like it slipped past the factory Quality Control,,,
And never got milled to the proper round shape.
I saw one once where the owner had the underlug milled,,,
After that was done to round it off,,,
The gun was beautiful.

Seems to be in very good condition, and the price is more fair. Therefore, good buy. I have searched for almost 2 years, the only model that I got was SS in 357 and I end up buying a 617 SS 4".
Enjoy it, post pics and review ASAP.

I'm going to take it to the range this week.

Boy am I glad someone hates DW revolvers !! One less guy to have to compete with when looking for the next DW revolver.

Nice thing about hating a particular style of DW barrel is that you can just buy a different style. A six year old could swap the barrel.

Oh so true. Just a couple minutes and a new look can be found.
