I went back and checked a few threads I'd posted in, and they all had the same number.

...... thought they were numbered consecutively, like pages in a book.

I think you broke the code Damned (if I may call you by your first expletive ;) ). The post count is dynamic and follows the member. So all post counts in the various threads for a member will always be the same.
