I got caught looking at "Evil" gun porn on THR . From the grapevine I heard the girl behind me was worried about me coming in and "going postal" I'm addicted to THR, I have an IT desk job and I find myself constantly on here looking at gun porn and gaining knowledge. Anyone else have my addiction?

Not me. I hardly ever spend time around guns or surfing gun boards.

Whoops. The "not" above is in the wrong place; move it six words or so further to the right. :uhoh:

I usually check in a few times a day here in my office. I work with mostly guys (try finding a woman in the network support group of a major telecom). Everyone here knows I have this addiction and they try to help me deal with it ..... the ask me questions like "Should I pay over $500 for a Glock17?", "What Remington Wingmaster models were made during the '60s"? or "Who out there is carrying a CZ75 and what holster do they IWB with?"

Nice helpful questions like that ...

No problem where I work, I work in a secured access Data Center.

My boss, who is a lady, even saw myself and one of our co-workers swapping AK and AR-15 mags. :what: Didn't phase her in the least. :D

One of the other ladies caught me perusing THR one day, and started asking about the different handguns that were pictured. Nope, no problem where I work!

I work retail in a small town. I have allot of time on my hands to surf THR. In fact I am on THR for 3-4 hours per day. It is amazing how much reading you can get done when you have half a day to do it.

Gun porn? Hell, I usually shout, "Dude you gotta come see this <insert gun name>!" down the hallway. I guess its not that big a deal at my work...
:D

I should probably do it less than three times a day though... :uhoh:

The advent of increased network security kept me from many of my favorite websites while at work. Turned out that the security program they use "classifies" sites and THR fell into one of the classifications (Mature Chat I think) that were not allowed.

With some experimentation I found an alternate address for THR (don't use the "WWW") and now I can get on. Most people at my office know that I am a gun enthisiast I just don't push it at work.

You should have a good understanding of the environment you work in.

I have gone so far as to read certain gun forums and video game forums with the pictures turned off (Internet Options/Advanced) so as to not get any suprises (one board I was on had an epidemic for a while where an exploit would make lots of gay porn pop up on your PC - NOT GOOD!).

I am a General Access Computer Lab Operator (GACL) at the Univeristy of Arkansas. I havent had any one shriek with horror, yet. I generally spend 3/4 of my shifts surfing THR, because unless something happens in the lab (printer needs paper, user needs help, internet crashes, computer spontaneously combusts, or I have to go "Office Space" on a printer ;) ), I sit at a computer. Life is good.

i changed my settings to never display images posted in THR, but rather they are a hyperlink. so i can check if the coast is clear before looking at some fine "artistic" photography.

but even then its risky. my office manager wears Ninja shoes/clothing. i cant hear her approaching.

I often print out pictures of gun porn on the company's printers.

Of course, perhaps owning the company helps.

I normally don't mess around when I'm at work. If I do happen to take a break, I normally get some food and then go at it again. If I want to surf THR, I do so on my own time at home. Right now I'm between classes so I have time.

I check the site while I am at work every now and again. The computers in the Employee Lab are a bit slow, fast connection, just slow computers that take like 30 seconds to display a complete page.

Sorry if the rest of you fellow think I'm strange but refering to Gun photos and web sights as Porn is a little OFF putting to me. There is a world of differance between Porn and anything gun related to me. Porn is disturbing and , revolting where as Firearms related pictures and information is a good thing and perfectly acceptable to my self and my family. I don't mind if my children or wife sees me looking at Firearms related sights, but would be ashamed if they were Porn sights. Just my view on things!!! :(

My company's policy towards web access is really very reasonable. Of course, they, like most big companies block obvious sites. But our policy is, that web access via the company's network should be primarily related to our work. I agree.

I limit my THR access to home use only.

It's gun EROTICA. Porn is dirty and disreputable, but erotica is stimulating art. I appreciate beauty, truth, and provocative lines, like on a Walther P .08. Or a tall, slender Swedish '96. The beauty of craftmanship, the beauty of purpose.

...to look at Gun Content (formerly known as p**n). I get paid to call companies up and ask for brochures. I get paid to get test samples of any and all firearms, play with them, shoot them and then send 'em back (NFA excepted....mostly).

I get paid to order all kinds of accessories to play with and use, providing they are, even remotely, gun related.

I get paid to go and attend all kinds of gun training classes.

Guess I better get to work.

I was caught looking at gun pr0n at school one time (during study hall). I go to a small conservative private school. The teacher there didn't mind at all, and was talking to me about how he would go shooting with his son sometimes. Sure suprised me :what:

If I had been at a large public school, they might have called the police and had me arrested :uhoh:

Nip that in the bud, right now. I'd immediately go to HR and file a complaint about her comments creating a 'hostile workplace'.
\mild Political Correctness sarcasm

but seriously, I'd look for a way to get that recognized, and documented, FIRST.
People who fear guns, and try to stigmatize them should feel the full brunt of the Politically Correct bureacracy they've created. Use their system against them.

If I had been at a large public school, they might have called the police and had me arrested Nah, they woulda just harassed you a lot.

I used to take Guns and Ammo type magazines to school to read during studyhall. I'd make some of the teachers look like idiots in gun debates, ect. The day after the Columbine shooting my locker and car were serched, along with my GF's.

I was the usual suspect for everything untill I quit.
