Took off work early hunt some resident geese on my deer hunting farm. I wanted to get down and get some meat and then let it rest until muzzleloader kicks in. Who says Wiems are just field dogs :D

Very nice. I saw a Weimaraner retrieve rocks off the bottom of a salt-water creek a few years ago. His owner finally got tired of throwing rocks in the water. :)

I don't think my Boykin could pick up a big resident goose. She has a time with fat muscovies and mallards.

Not me. Most all of the Continental breeds are intended to retrieve from water, regardless of their coat.

Good lookin' dog.

Very cool. I broke in my still growing first year Lab on doves this past weekend. I'm looking forward to our duck and goose season, she's still improving. They ain't down here, yet, though, and season doesn't start until November. I skip teal season, usually, too many gators and dogs have been lost out there.

Never thought about gators vs dogs. I worry more about snake bites.

Gators are a big worry for me all season long. My dog only weighs 32 lbs. and will go after a duck no matter what.
I took her rail hunting the other day. I waited until 10:00 when the sun was high and most of the gators were holed up. When she retrieved, I was always ready at standby with a lethal shell loaded for harmful lizards.
