Nice old guy got it without the sheath. Prices on the net are all over the place for the Crimean War Pioneer swords. Repros are around $125 and originals are $350 and way up (+$1,000 for some reason). Luckily the repros aren't marked like the range of these that are supposed to be authentic.

The markings on the brass hilt are Roman letters, not Cyrillic - maybe some type of import mark? The markings on the blade are Cyrillic: П. Г. (P. G.) and МА...ТО (same as Roman letters)
