I see people on youtube making their own slug ammo, would there be any issues or concerns removing a slug and wad from a smaller cartridge and putting it into a longer 3 1/2 inch casing?,any ballistic info would be appreciated and the ammo in question is pictured thanks

I don't really want to go into detail about what it would take to make this work, but I would like to ask why you would want to do this? If you were to do it you would end up with a 3.5" shell shooting a 1 ounce slug at a lower velocity than the 2.75" shell you originally took it from.

You would need fiber wads or something to make up the extra 3/4" of space, with no recipe to start from as far as powder charge, etc. Plus the factory rifled slug loads are roll crimped, and the 3.5" is a fold crimp. It begs the question, why would you want to do this? If you are wanting to shoot slugs out of a Mossberg 835 for example, that says "not for slugs" on the barrel, it is because of the overbore barrel diameter, not the shell length.
