Just cruising the web and reading the German news - www.welt.de.
Not sure if this hit the US news yet.
German President was near the Horn of Africa on a state visit and was pulled out asap. German BND (sort of like the US CIA) received highly credible info that a plot to assasinate German President Rau was planned. Now there are concerns that Berlin may be targeted for an attack.
Seems they are all figuring out that if you're involved against Islam in Iraq or Afghanistan - it makes no difference. You're on their hit list. Also, the German Navy (just one Frigate right now - but they had more there before) is an active participant in Operation Enduring Freedom off the Horn of Africa. German President Rau was to pay a visit to the Frigate while on his trip there.
We know the French got a little nervous right after Madrid. Seems the rest in Europe a waking up.
Also - They just found explosives in France on the paris-toyres-basel rail-lines.
