Hello. I've actually been lurking since The Firing Line days, and I've finally decided to join in on the conversations!

I just recently bought a pinned and recessed Model 19-2, and a Model 36, both of which are apparently nickel plated. I was hoping I could get the year of manufacture for these two. The serial number (the number on the bottom of the grip?) of the 19 is K684XXX. The number on the inside where the cylinder opens is 18XXX. The corresponding numbers on the 36 are 337XXX, and 27XXX.

I'd appreciate any info I get get on these two. I plan on getting involved in a little more of the chatter around here! Thanks!

According to my Standard Catalog - the 19 should be 1966.

The 36 is less clear - its states that ser# 295000 started in 1962 and then 786544 in 1969 with no other stats in between, but then it also states that the 36-1 started in 1967, so if the 36 is marked just 36 - no dash something, I guess that would be somewhere from 1962-1967.

Other members may have some more detailed listings to get you closer on the 36.
