Dear THR:
Like the subject line says who is 'The Glock Man' of THR? There is only one criteria- MOST number of Glocks CURRENTLY owned.

Show pics [if you would like to share your collection], please.

I wonder if there is anyone on THR who has each and every model of Glock ever made.

Thanks.

I for one am not the glock man. I have 1. A 20sf. I like it very much, but find the M&P a little better for my hand. I have 4 of those....

Dear lord, why would I ever admit to the quantity of firearms owned on a public forum, much less post pics?

IMO, I have not enough Glocks.

No Glocks here. They are ugly and smell bad. Besides I lost everything in that boating accident.

Same here. I don't see myself buying another Glock either - but if I did - it would be a G19.

You can usually get full or partial credit for any el Godfather question by answering it with H&K USP.

Agreed. El Godfather likes to start lots of polls and threads with meaningless topics.

Strange and random, but I find them interesting. USP has got nothing to do with it unless you praise it!

Seriously, USP is not an answer to every problem. I like my Glocks as well, just not as much these days.

I drank a little of it but it had a bitter sweet taste. I had an early 17L, a 17, 26, 23, 19, and 20 OD.

Sold them all and am Glock free! :) Only plastic in the house is two little Kel-Tec pocket guns.

el Godfather, seems like you poked the bear a bit here. I don't know why so many guys are offended or put off by your threads...and still need to participate??? FWIW, I like most of the threads you start. They may be hypothetical, but this is the internet, nothing here is verified. Some really good conversations have come out of these threads...so keep going until the mods shut you down, if it's your thing. Also, you seem to have an awesome collection, don't hesitate to share more of it with us.

No Glocks for me, yet. They really don't do much for me. I get it, they work, but I don't have any use for a pistol that doesn't pique my interest the way other designs do. If I needed a duty gun, I'd probably have a couple.

TL;DR: None yet.

Note to THR members: Participation in every thread is not required.

I think some people have noticed a pattern, and just elected to make that observed pattern known in this thread.

THR is a great resource, and many come here for honest answers to honest questions.

Like other gun boards... it can also be a place where people troll for responses. Maybe out of boredom, maybe just for the "sport" of trolling, maybe an 'anti' trying to make some point. Or maybe fishing to set somebody up for theft or worse.

I'm not exactly saying el Godfather is specifically doing any of these things. That being said, it is a very peculiar question to ask of the board. Why would somebody care who has the most Glocks on THR, or if somebody here has one of each model?? How would the board at large know that?

He has asked other questions recently - maybe not quite as peculiar, but still strange. Obviously others have noticed it also. One strange question, and then precious little feedback if any. "Drive by" random postings, if you will. Just posting to be posting, apparently.

So at least speaking for myself, that's why I responded the way I did this time (I have provided sincere responses to him in the past). I don't see anything wrong the the board kind of self-policing itself this way. It just puts people on notice that while this board is a great resource, it's not exactly a hivemind of gun knowledge to just ask any ol' kooky thing your heart desires - even if not exactly ban-worthy. Nobody said anything out of line to el Godfather, as far as I can tell. And if anybody wants to oblige or engage el Godfather's question(s), then by all means feel free. Just saying that people aren't just randomly giving this one thread and OP a hard time for absolutely no reason.

I too am a little surprised el Godfather initiated a thread sans HK pistols. However, no Glocks whatsoever under my roof, in my car, or buried in a bunker. The only Glock I may ever own is a 20 (I said may! I'm looking at other 10mm pistols for such a purchase.

tubeshooter, I wasn't calling anyone's responses "out of line" and I really don't think el Godfather (with over 1200 posts) is trolling either. Just seems like a guy who enjoys talking about guns...

I just think it's funny how people post about not wanting to post on certain threads... The conversation (which will either continue or die-off) does not hinge on every member's participation, nor is it improved by people pointing out that it's not the most thought-provoking or useful thread in THR's history.

I responded because I'm actually curious to see if anyone has amassed enough of the soul-less tupperware wonderguns (and I mean that in the nicest way:evil:) to the level where it would be considered a collection.

Currently at 11 Glocks. 17L, 19, 21, 21SF, 23 (x2), 26, 30, 30SF, 34, 36. All Gen3 guns.

They are usually in tight supply in CA, so I bought what I could when I could. Didn't own any until about two years ago, when I decided to give up my long-standing prejudice against them and give them (and polymer-framed pistols in general) a fair tryout. One thing about them - I can shoot them as much as I want and still get most/all of my purchase price back when I sell them.

I see a lot of Glock fans here, but Glock fanboys are rare. Lots of happy owners, not many "all guns should be Glocks" guys.

I'm a very happy owner. I'd like a second 19 Gen 4 and a 22 Gen 4. I don't really have interest beyond the 19, 22, and 23.

I own others besides Glocks, including pistols from Ruger, S&W, Colt, Les Baer, and Sig. I even own a few of those S&W rotating-cylinder-fed SA/DA handguns....

But I do own more Glocks than any other brand, and carry only Glocks at this point. I can only list three on my CCW, and it makes sense to me to stay consistent.

I don't know if Dr Lunde ever posted on THR, but he's the undisputed "fill in the blank" king. I remember him posting pics of his impressive collection of SIGs, CZs, Browninigs, 1911s, Glocks, HKs, Berettas and lots of other brands. He was also one of the humblest and nicest persons you could meet.

I had a G21. Although it was reliable and accurate, I couldn't really find a use for it. it was terminally huge as a carry gun, I don't need a duty pistol, and there's no real "rules niche," for it in competition. So even though I kinda liked it, I decided I liked $400 better, and sent it down the road.

In honor of this thread's patron, I also had a USP 40 at one time. I'd been convinced by reading Dick Marcinko books at an impressionable age, that they were they Mostest Bestest Ultimatest Combat Handgun in the world. I didn't really find anything to like about it, though. It was reliable, but kind of lousy ergonomically, kicked more than I liked, (I still have a bias against 40s) and I never shot it very well. It also had a tendency to decock itself if you tried to ride the thumb safety like a 1911. Not good in a pistol that advertises itself as being familiar in control layout to the 1911.

Anyhow, while I kinda regret selling the G21, I don't at all miss the USP. If el Godfather likes them, then perhaps that goes some way towards explaining his questionable taste in thread topics.

Who is "THE GLOCK MAN" of THR?

Heh! I don't know because I don't keep too much track of who has what and who likes what on this site. Heck, I have enough problem trying to remember family birth dates and ages!

But what I DO know, based on observation on THR, is all you have to do is post a question giving people a specific choice between certain guns on a list, none of which being a Glock, and the Glock fans will be crawling out of the woodwork telling you all about how those guns suck and Glocks reign supreme!

They're so predictable it's almost like baiting a trap!

EDIT:

No, I'm not a Glock fan. They're great pistols by any performance standard you could wish for...but I think they're uglier than sin.

There is an important distinction to understand. RetiredUSNChief used language implying that a number of people here tell everyone that Glocks are strictly superior to everything else (unless I'm misreading 'reign supreme'). THAT would be fanboy behavior. It doesn't really happen much here. What DOES happen here is Glock fans showing up discussing their enthusiasm.

In short, we have a lot of. "Glocks are great!", and very little " Glocks are the One True God!!!"

You'll note that a lot of us who are fans of Glocks are fans of other pistols, as well.

I own a few, and hope to own a few more. The glock19 is one of my favorite handguns. It is just so versatile. I also like the subs to: 26,27,33.
I love Glocks but they are not bullet proof. A gen4 26 is the only one I ever had any problems with after thousands of rounds through Glock handguns.
As another poster said earlier I like and own a lot of other pistols as well. As a rule I just avoid Taurus and HK, but that's just me.

I'm all for Glock fans, or any other firearm fan discussing their favorite gun of any kind. However, not all questions need to be answered with Glock (or in the case of the OP, H&K USP).
What I think RetiredUSNChief and I consider "fanboy behavior" is when this happens...
...all you have to do is post a question giving people a specific choice between certain guns on a list, none of which being a Glock,...
...and somebody will tell them to get a Glock. If it isn't one of the choices under consideration, the answer should not be Glock. The number of times the Glock answer is given, when it is not an option in the question, is very large. I think Glock makes a fine pistol and it may certainly be one of the finest firearms ever made. However, when somebody doesn't want a Glock, and specifically says that in their question, if somebody then recommends a Glock, well, I consider that "fanboy behavior".

Exactly! It was a tongue-in-cheek posting, a wee bit of exaggeration (but not much) for the benefit of humor! Hence the :neener:.

Obviously they don't REALLY stream out of the woodwork and mob such postings, but we DO see them occasionally. "1911's suck, Glock rules", "Glocks never jam", "Glock quality is the best".

And let's not forget the odd FN7 that pops up ever now and then, tossing his weight around as well.

Yeah, lots of people like to hijack a string beyond it's original boundaries, and then the dash is on.

^^^^ Course we do live in a era when generations of shooters were brought up on nothing but plastic fantastics. coupled with most people will recommend only what they have experience with.

Then there is the others that will praise to highest echelons what they spent their hard earned money on.. or complain the loudest.

I complain more about Glocks more than praise them. As my direct ownership experience has been 2 pieces of junk and 3 that work. (all 17's or 19's) Not exactly good odds. Ive yet to find something to praise them about. Maybe the Ferritic Nitrocarburizing?
