I noticed Sig has a model of the P250 Sub-Compact 380 listed on their website with an ambi manual safety. (product 250SC-380-BSS-MS )

I have searched and cannot find a picture of this gun anywhere. Anyone know anything about it?

BTW, I know the P250 has a long DA pull so a safety isn't needed, so we don't have to go down that road. I am looking for info on this model, not a manual safety war.

Perhaps it was made for a large contract for an agency that requires a safety.

I've heard of glocks fitted with safeties for the same reason.

Having owned a Sig250, I can't imagine why anyone would want a safety on it. The long trigger pull is safe enough.

Agreed, but there may be some states w/some ridiculous "safety" requirement that forces a manual safety on the P250 to make it legal there.

I'll second the guess that it was built for an agency. I don't think the private sector has been exactly yelling for a manual safety on the P250, it's not exactly a high-demand gun with civilians, and even if it was, Sig's customer base is most assuredly used to relying on long DA pulls for safety.

I like mine without a safety, but then again, I'm a Glock guy so.... I've got a "thing" against safeties.

Thanks guys. The LEO thing makes sense. Buds does list one that it says has a manual safety in the description, but the model number on buds doesn't match Sigs website. I don't know if buds actually has the thumb safety one for sale or if it is a error in their description. I may call buds tomorrow and see if they can shed some light

It wouldn't be the first time Bud's description was wrong.
