So I was watching The Shield, and Vic Mackey made the Desert Eagle .357 look sooooo cool. I absolutely want one, purely for the spectacle. Obviously using it for carry is a little silly, but carrying it with me during hunting for wildcat/boar protection isn't so far out of the question. Anybody have one of these that would like to weigh in on how fun they are to shoot? :D Pictures welcome!

Extremely fun to shoot! You can launch really hot .357s (1500+ FPS) with the recoil of a 9mm! Loud boom, no recoil to speak of, and a big piece of brass flying out. Puts a smile on everyone's face! The ammo cost savings alone vs. the .50AE means that after 2,000 or so rounds, you'd have saved enough for another Desert Eagle! One thing to be aware of is that most target loads will not fully cycle the pistol. It will fire and eject, but the slide won't cycle far back enough to pick up the next round.
I no longer have mine because I decided a 5 lb. pistol just had no practical purpose for me aside from smiling on the shooting range. Nothing wrong with that, but I parted with mine for a Colt SP1, which I feel has much more utility. For when I need a .357, I've got a nice trio of revolvers to choose from that I can actually carry.
