To those on here who took the time to help me work up my first loads I'd like to express my gratitude. I can't thank you guys enough for helping this utterly green noob to acquire some working knowledge in this "new to me" hobby!!!

I have wanted to learn how to reload for a good decade but never did due to worries I might seriously injure myself with my lack of knowledge. Over the years I've found my soul mate, become a father of my now 6 1/2 yo beautiful daughter and a tough 3 1/2 yo son, I also have an 11yo stepson who is very bright and shaping up to be a fine young man. Significant other and I have been together for 9 years and will finally be married this Thursday the 31st... Gave her 9 years to decide and were still together, she loves going to the range and supports me in everything.
I picked up a press kit and other essentials about a month ago, I've spent most of the last month reading and learning/sourcing components.
A few days ago, with the help of members here, I finally felt comfortable loading up a few for real for my range trip yesterday.
I loaded up 3 sets of 5 rounds for each of the two bullets I have starting at the minimum "new" charge wt for my oal thanks to some cross multiplying math shared by 1Sow (thanks again!!!) and steped up the charge .2 gr on each set, marked each set with a different color sharpie for after inspection and logged all data...
Upon firing the first one off and seeing the hole on paper down range and my hand still there I was immediately filled with a sense of accomplishment and excitement!!! I heard that would happen :D.
Accuracy was better than the factory ammo I bought to proof my new sig 938, and seemed to become more accurate each step up in charge to the mid-range I loaded to. I am very pleased with the performance for plinking and was all I was looking for, fow now at least.

THANK YOU ALL! I have lurked around this site for the last ten years and learned much from you guys! Some on here even helped me choose my first handgun -CZ 75B- (still kicking myself for letting that one go a couple years ago:(). I have always found this site to be full of knowledge and people of the highest caliber!

Remember the old adage - "This hobby that is saving me hundreds is costing me THOUSANDS!"

Soon you'll understand :D

That's about the most spot on comment I've ever read on here.

Congrats on the upcoming marriage. After 9 years you definitely aught to know whether or not you like each other. :)
And happy loading. Welcome to the obsession.

Thank you ArchAngelCD, Type098 and ArkansasPaul!
I am finding what Type098 said to be very honest assessment, "Honey, there's a great deal on this and I need it so YOU can get more practice at the range like you said you wanted..." has been my go to for a few weeks now. Thank heavens she is turning into a range rat or I'd be in some trouble.
To make things easier on me, I picked up a NIB marlin 795 for a song (109.00 OTD) and am looking into enrolling her in appleseed as a wedding gift, hope she don't read this before Thursday...

Hell yeah.
I've added 2 guns to the collection for "her" and of course I had to get dies and brass so I could work loads up for them.

You have been led astray by the evil ones. I will try to save you just send all powder, primers, and brass to me... Hey I am here for you, or you can just take the personal satisfaction of a newly learned skill and enjoy the hel out of it and before long you too will wonder. Do I reload so I can shoot more or do I shoot more so I can reload more? I too was led astray by the evil ones and I ain't lookin back I am havin too much fun! Load lots of different calibers thus you will be embracing diversity so to speak. Continue with style. Just my 2 cents worth from the Big Sky Country.

Congrats on the upcoming marriage. My wife had never fired a handgun when we met, now she owns 4 of her own. :)

That's great that you enjoyed your first reloads. Have fun.

Ha ha ha!
You guys crack me up!
I've definitely wandered over to the dark side, but was pulled there by forces greater than myself.
Dad has offered to put us up in a hotel for the weekend but she refused, says she'd rather stay home and have me cook her a steak dinner and take her to the range... Been smiling so much my face hurts...
Carefully rolled another hundred of my own last night and am looking forward to hitting it again today, tomorrow, day after that etc...
"WARNING- Reloading can become addictive!" Should be printed on all component labels and gear!
Looking forward to my honeymoon at the range and a dreary winter filled with days of rolling my own for that next trip to the range...

Congratulations on both the Marriage and the reloads. Maybe she will reload with you at some point. Also, it is a good skill to pass on to your children.

That's pretty cool man.
My wife killed her 1st deer last season and she loaded the bullet that killed it. She's not into loading mind you, but she thinks it's cool to load her own hunting rounds.

LNK,
She has shown interest in reloading as well as learning how to fight with a knife, Bass Pro ran a sale on an old timer bowie knife 10 1/2 inch blade for $19.XX recently and I was lucky enough to grab one. Originally bought it for her but she ended up stealing one of my S&W combat knives and has ferreted it away in her nightstand, was gracious enough to let me keep the old timer...
My two older kids are showing some interest in reloading and hope to share my hobby with them as they grow.
I'll never be sure why the wife changed her mind about firearms, maybe the news storys, ammo panic, friends experiences, Etc. She flipped a switch internally about a year ago, before that she was ok with A handgun in the house and had no desire to learn how to use it, I never pushed her to do more than be able to operate it in event of home invasion... this went on for eight years and then she says to me "Baby, for valentines id like a gun instead of girly stuff." We promptly went to some lgs at the height of the panic 2012. Only expensive handguns were still in stock which seemed to make her resolve stiffen quite a bit, after handling the meager selections available she settled on a PX4 storm compact 9mm because I still had some ammo and she liked how it fit her hand, we ended up with a px4 in 9mm and one in .40 for valentines gifts to each other, could've knocked me over with a feather... now she has her sig 938 and has claimed my CZ 83 .380, runs sweep drills in the house with me when kids are nanna and pappa's and overall has done a 180 in mindset...
My city girl is turning country and I love it!

ArkansasPaul,
I hope my wife will go hunting with me someday. Yours sounds very cool!!!
I've been thru your neck of the woods, I grew up outside of Springfield MO. We used to drive down to Sam's Throne and hike/camp around there about 20 years ago... Beautiful country!!!
