What shotgun to buy?

I am about to invest in a defensive shotgun but am unsure of what I want. I already have a Benelli Nova with a rifled barrel for deer hunting and I have a Benelli M-1 super 90(H&K Older model) with a 28 inch vent rib that I use for bird hunting. I thought about just buying a different barrel for one of these but new ones are hard to find and very expensive and used ones are even harder to find and again very expensive. I can buy a good used whole shotgun for what most people are wanting for their used Benelli barrels. What do you suggest? Rem. 870, Mossberg 500, Winchester 1300, etc. Give me your suggestions.....................

If you're familiar with the Benelli Nova and comfortable with the fit and performance, i'd say stick with the Nova. Try to find a used Nova with a shorter barrel or buy one with any barrel and have it cut.

although any that you mention above would be fine, i'd probably stick with the nova. simply because you are already familair with the ergonomics and will only become more proficient while deer/bird hunting. if you definately want something different, just be sure to BA/UU/R.

Stick with the Nova. There's a particular model with an 18.5" barrel and ghost-ring sights. I've come very close to buying one myself, but it didn't fit my wife too well, and anything intended for HD must be easily usable by both of us.

All the ones you mention will do the job if WE do ours.

But, you're used to the Nova. Get another, preferably at a good price bought slightly used from some fool that touched off a 3.5" mag while using bad fit and form, and go for it.

Big advantage, commonality of "Chops".
