DA technique?

It seems that just about every DA I shoot my trigger finger gets pinched between the bottom of the trigger and the finger guard during recoil.
I have yet to have any skin break, but after a mag or two it gets too sore to practice. This has happened with the baretta 92/96, tauras pt145, HKs, Kel-tecs, and a few others which is making it expensive trying to find a good DA I can use for SD.
Is there something I am doing wrong, or do I just need to find one that works (I don't have this problem with revolvers as much as autos, but I have shot more autos).
Any idea's would help.
Thanks,
ehenz

I'm assuming this doesn't happen when shooting SA? My guess is you're changing what part of your finger you're using during the DA stroke; probably shifting your finger towards the knuckle to get better leverage.
The pressure point on your trigger finger should be the same spot regardless of DA or SA.
Cock the (unloaded!!!) pistol and take note of where your finger hits the trigger (should be the middle of the finger tip pad). Pull the trigger (of the unloaded gun), and without shifting your finger or grip, now do it DA. You shouldn't get pinched. Practice that grip and stroke.

I've had that problem with my Wife's tracker, in my case the distance between the back of the grip and the trigger is too short, which makes it difficult to squeeze the trigger from the end of my finger..so I end up choking up.
Never had any trouble with my GP-100...
Larryw's advice is sound..

Agree w/ Larry. When I learned to shoot DA, I ran into the same thing. It took me awhile to figure out that because the trigger pull was longer, I was using a slightly diff't grip and causing a pinch. Once I adjusted my hands, everything seemed to quickly fall into place afterwards. Came done to needing more practice & better direction.

Switch to revolvers. You don't have that problem and a good wheelgun is a great CCW option.

I saw you listed KT's.... if a P-11 a trigger shoe from KT should help. You can install it low on the trigger so it is close to the trigger guard, and this should keep your finger out of this area...
