Tavor scope mount - extended or not?

Supposed to have a Tavor on the way (don't have hands on to check yet) and was wondering what type of scope mounts you folks are using?

I plan on buying a Bushnell Throw Down PCL scope, and will use Bobro Engineering QD mount, but don't know whether to get extended, slightly extended, or no extension on the mount.

I currently have said scope in the Bobro Engineering Extended Mount, which was required for the AR, but I don't know if the same type mount is required / needed on the Tavor? I had to work around the charging handle / rear flip-up sight space on the AR's rail, which required the extended mount.

No charging handle to work around on the Tavor - don't know what I'm going to do about flip-up sights (not to sure 'bout the looks of those OEM units on the gun).

I don't have the answer to your question but how did you like that bobro mount on your ar? I just ordered one of their extended mounts with the bolts that are accessable from the top. Looks like a really good design but I haven't had one before.

Yeah - I have two of 'em with the bolts from the bottom - my last was with bolts from the top - really makes it easier to mount, which is no big deal since it's a one-time thing(?), but if you have to do something with it later, you just know you will have lost the sawed off hex key they sent with the bottom bolt type.

Looks like a really good design but I haven't had one before.
Only complaint I have (and that's not on Bobro) is my 3Buccs brass catcher won't quite fit under it without hitting - I've got to contact 3Buccs to see if they have anything / plan on anything slightly shorter to avoid contact. I may take a chance and see if I can remove some material from the top of the 3Buccs mount - would like to order 3 or so more of just the mounts to leave on various guns, so all you need do is move the bag.

I almost went with a Larue, but I like the clamping system on the Bobro and they've been getting good reviews, 'specially RTZ results.
My first one went on a 15-22, which has a plastic rail, so I feel the Bobro "clamp" style would be easier on the rail than the cam-lock style of the Larue.

I also noticed some of my Trijicon QD mounts looked exactly like the Bobro - from what I understand, Trijicon is using his design?

Guess I'll wait for the Tavor to arrive Monday and see what's required.
I don't see where I would need an extended mount on it, but may just stick with one since that's what I already have, and with all the QD mounts, it may end up on an AR with all the optic swappin' going on.

I like Larue too but I went with bobro this time because the design interests me. Yeah, Bobro makes multiple mounts with the trijicon name stamped on them. They also make some with the swfa logo on them too for sale from their site.

I had a hard time finding them in stock anywhere....especially the extended and even harder to find the extended with the bolts from the top. I had to pay msrp on it to get it which stinks because that's a good chunk of change for a mount..but hey....I wanted to try it.

Well I finally got my Tavor - it looks like extended scope mounts would be preferred(?) in order to clean up the forward end slightly since when you pull back the bolt, an extended scope mount might make for a few less things to bang your knuckles on?

Have your hand palm up instead of palm down when racking the charging handle, it's a habit you get into with certain bullpups, Tavor, Aug/MSAR etc... ,especially on the AUG, to avoid banging your knuckles on the rail or anything hanging off the rail. Just do it enough times and it becomes 2nd nature.
