Gotta love the GP100

My GP100 had some trouble. Ruger fixed it promptly. One reason why I bought the gun was the extremely smooth trigger. They replaced a bunch of parts and smoothed out the trigger for me. It's even better than when I first bought it despite the 14# hammer spring.

Here is a target I shot at five yards. Ammo was PMC Bronze 38 Special FMJ. The outside diameter of the target is two inches. The right two were fired rapidly, almost as I can with a semi-auto. I credit my instructor, who tweaked my trigger reset technique such that I no longer mess up the follow-up shot. I couldn't shoot a centerfire revolver like this prior to the class.

The target in PDF format is attached.

You didn't mention what you were shooting.

I'd say you got it down pretty good there for sure.

It's been quite a few years since I was putting enough through mine to shoot rapid fire groups like that, but when i was, it sure was fun.

Nowadays, I hunt with my bigger caliber rev's and even though they are all double action I usually shoot them single, but at ranges starting at 20 and going out to 75-100 depending on the loads. I'm usually pretty warm and fuzzy to shoot groups like that at 25, (standing two hand hold,) but much slower and deliberate.

That's some nice shooting there! Very tight groups, especially more so as they were done rapid fire. What ammo were you using?

PMC Bronze 38 Special FMJ. I will try it with some Remington UMC 357 Magnum 125 grain SJSP.

Shooting 38 Special out of my 3 inch barrel GP100 puts a grin on my face. It feels like cheating.

GP100 is still an unfamiliar gun to me, which I only put about 300 rounds at the moment, and I was able to to controlled pairs on 12 inch steel plate at 35 yards, which would translate to about 1.7 inch at 5 yards.
