Just wondering if anyone has tried this bullet in .22 Hornet (rifle) and what your results were like, or any load data you don't mind sharing.

Thanks!

No, and I would not.

That bullet is intended for .223 high velocity.

It will expand poorly if at all at .22 Hornet velocity.

I'm not sure if the twist in .22 hornet will throw a 50 grain.

I've shot some to include the 55gr Spts.

They're "ok". Nothing special. I've also shot PRVI .243,.257, .264 (6.5), .30 150 and 165gr BtSpt.

Yes, they're made for .223, but I've shot them in .22Hornet, .222, and .22-250. They're about like the Remington and Winchesters. OK but not great.

The only ones I've gotten "good" accuracy from are the 120gr BtHpt advertised as a "match" bullet. They shoot 3/4" groups from my Rem. Mod-7 in .260Rem. The 165gr BtSpt's are good hunting bullets.

I've found that with all their Spt's, that using a cheap plastic pencil sharpener to uniform the meplats can significantly improve the accuacy. With both the .243 and .257 I got them to go from 1.5-2" groups to more like MOA.

Mostly, I've just loaded the .22's for plinking, ect in the .22's.
In the .22Hornet, I mostly load Lil'Gun. I'm out of Acc1680 and doubt I'll ever buy anymore. 11.5gr of Lil'Gun is what I use. Gets about 2,600fps w/50gr bullets. Soft point, non-blitz, TNT,SX ect all perform much like "hunting" soft points from larger calibers. They kill smaller deer fine, and you'll seldom recover a bullet. I used to carry a 77/22Hornet carbine in my patrol truck, loaded with 50gr FNGC cast bullets at ~1,950fps. It was powerful and effective on putting down road-hit deer that needed putting down. It WOULD completely penetrate skulls at 10'. Much more effective than .22lr and much cheaper than .22wmr.
My current Ruger M77/22Hornet S/S w24"bbl has 1/14"twist, so, it's shoots flat-base 50gr bullets decently.

I would think that bullet would shoot fine both of my CZ's shoot 50's better than 45's as long as the bullet is less than .700 it will probably shoot well. Don't waste your money on bullets like the VMAX or NBT or the 53gr tsx or IMO anything with a boattail though accuracy was real bad.

Both my CZ's will shoot the 50gr hornaday sp into an inch. I have a target shot with 12.6 gr hogdon lil gun and 6.5 primers 10 shots .860 vertical and .654 horizontal the length of the HSP is .663.

Goodluck and shoot straight
