I picked up a p223 3x32 to experiment with. This is a short little scope and it seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I am a newb when it comes to rings - especially qd rings. Can anyone point me to a specific model of qd rings that will work?

I like the Burris QD made for the AR. Lightweight, always returns to zero and fairly priced.
I actually didn't realize that scope was that short in the "tube" section. You might end up having to go with a two piece. Time to research dimensions...

You will definitely need a 2 piece mount for your P-223 3 X scope. It is very compact and won't fit any 1 piece mounts I have seen. If there is one please let me know. I use Nikon's 2 piece P-Series AR mount for my 3X scope. Easy to adjust and locks tight. I'm not sure about a good QD mount that will work for this scope. I am a big fan of Larue's QD mount but it is not cheap.
Here's a pic of my well used P-223 3X scope and P-Series mount.
