Your welcome. I like .45 myself. I just need to stop multitasking and I would stop having to edit these polls.

Depends on what I'm doing. I picked .22 LR,.38 spc, .357 mag and .44 mag. Now if you ment for edc that is .38 spc and .357 mag.

Can't carry yet in Illinois but I'll be carrying 9mm, .32 acp, and .38 Special when I can carry.... depending on which gun I can hide best where I am and in what I'm doing.

.45 ACP 99% of the time. Sometimes I throw a .380 in the pocket.

I'm suprised that the .40S&W is so far behind both 9mm and .45ACP in the poll. I don't have one but based on the level of support it recieves in any discussion of caliber choices I though it would put in a better showing.

22wmg always, 45acp in town and 44spl/44mag when not in town.

You didn't list the cartridge I carry most often,,,
I have a Taurus 25-PLY chambered for the .25 ACP cartridge.

Any time I can wear a light jacket,,,
That gun is in the pocket.

If I am using in my gun-toten-mamas briefcase,,,
Then I am packing a Beretta Cheetah chambered in .380 ACP.

Generally a .45apc or .357 for day to day carry out and about.
In the woods it's a .357 or .40

I carry a Ruger Blackhawk in either .45 Colt or .357 Magnum around 95% of the time. The other five percent it is a Ruger LCP in .380 ACP.

EDC is 9mm (G26), with a sizeable contingent of .45acp alternatives (3x 1911s, G30, G36) and a Shield for church!

My carry needs are based on what I can conceal when I am off duty.

In cargo pants or loose fitting casual slacks, I will carry my SIG 232 in .380ACP. If that is too large, then I go down a notch to my WALTHER PPK or further down to my BERETTA Tomcat in .32ACP.

I go with the largest gun I can conceal and the difference between the PPK and the Tomcat is basically in the control and practical accuracy that I can achieve with a slightly larger gun.

Still trying to figure out why people are using the old poll thread instead of this one...

At any rate, .357 magnum.

I realized I didn't actually answer the question in my previous post. I'd say my carry breaks down like this:

50% = .45ACP
30% = .357 Magnum
20% = 9mm

.40 100% of the time for over two years.

I'll never understand how anyone can list more than one choice in these threads. The question included the word "MOST", there can only be one you carry most, all the rest don't qualify.

I only carry one caliber, .45acp. Either in a 1911 or a XD45.

Once my permit arrives I'll be carrying a 40 S&W. Good thing my sister isn't trying to take this poll, the caliber she carries Isn't on the poll, 25 acp. Nether is my second choice of 7.62 x 25 Tokarev.

Since my Supertuck came in about a month ago, I've been primarily carrying my PPK in .380. Shoots great and is comfortable for all-day carry.

For me, it's fascinating to watch the numbers on this poll about how many carry what caliber - I'd love to see a similar poll done amongst folks who are not "gun aficionados" or Gun Board Junkies. I'd love to see if the general population of gun owners and folks carrying concealed mimics this poll or if this is only a sampling of what calibers are carried by folks who are really "into" handguns and all things concealed carry.

But I have no idea how that could be done.

Typically 9mm in summer, 40 in cooler weather. 10mm or 41mag while in the field depending on if I want to carry a revolover or semiauto.

Most of the time it's either 9mm or 38 Special, with 45 acp, 357 mag and 22lr getting some fairly regular carry time. Once in a blue moon calibers include 38 super, 10mm, 44 special, 44 mag, 45 Colt, 32acp, 9x18 and 7.62X25.

It's a 10mm "short", so I can see why people prefer the original :)

When you find a 15 to 21oz pistol that carries easy and thinly in 10mm that you can control like then buy it quick.
May 80% carry is a kahr tp40 , the 20% is a cm9 or cw9 all with underwood ammo too.

That 40sw underwood with a 155gr gold dot averages 1300fps . That's fast enough for a personal defense ammo.
