I had my winter vacation from shooting.
My shooting skills deteriorated to the point where I was unsure of myself.
4 trips to the range, 200+ rounds each, and on my 4th day back, it clicked.
Got my skills back! (Speed drills are still a little rusty.)
Shot every gun I took to the range, and all the types of ammo I had in stock to make sure it wasn't an ammo related thing.
Nope.
I tell you this, the gun that shot the best of them was one I hadn't shot before, my new CZ97b.
I tell you what, my CZ75b(s) are ok, but this 97b rocks!
First one hole group of the season at 15 yards.
First good day at the range (This year.), is there anything better?

Any day at the range feels great. Even when I'm not up to par.

Later,

A good day at the range is a great moment. I love going to the range when no one else is there. You can really concentrate on getting einsy weinsy little groups.

Here is a range nighmare story. I live in NJ and places to shoot rifle are few and far between. Last weekend my shooting buddy and I headed to a range in PA. We drive 2 hours only to find that that day they had started construction to renovate the range. You want to talk about major uggghhhh factor. Well, the 2 hour trip back shall we say.....SUCKED without having let off a single round.
