I have just reciently purchased a Mark IV Gov't 380 and I have some questions raising doubts about it.

I did some research and noticed that this gun had a safety recall on it regarding the sear and a possible AD. I contacted Colt 2 different times and was told that that recall was for models beginning with RK on the serial number. My Colt begins with RR.:confused: #1.

As this doesn't have a slide notch for the safety and no grip safety, would it be safe to carry C&L considering confusion #1. This leads to:confused: #2.

I consider my Colt Government .380 safe for holster carry cocked and locked. The thumb safety operates more like a Star, engaging the hammer directly instead of the sear like a 1911 Colt. Very secure.

So they recalled RK series guns. How does this lead to worry with a RR series?

I read on this site a list of recalled guns. The listing read Mark IV Gov't 380. Nowhere was a serial number listed. I got that info from Colt when I called for an replacement kit.

I have the Colt Government Model 380.

For me, it's not in the running to be my carry gun but if it was, I wouldn't have any problem with carrying it C&L.
