On our concession I frequently have to do a population check on the rhinos. I use game cameras and by darting them. Often we will offer a "green hunt" allowing one of our hunters to shoot one with a tranquilizer dart. Then we can draw blood, tattoo inside lip, implant tracking chip, check pregnancy.

Although we don't want to Kill these, it's still a requirement to have a big rifle handy!

You have very handsome hindquarters and a nice tail.

Who is the guy with the rifle?;)

JJHACK,
To avoid hijacking this thread, PM sent.

Amazing animals though. What's your current population?

Country wide they are fine, plenty enough to hunt them. Black Rhino not so much. they are a fragile population.

I much prefer the "green hunt" with a dart gun. Archery distance shooting great photo's and then we through them back like a big bass.

Do you have any black rhinos there?

We are in partnership with a 40,000 hectare nature conservancy that is privately owned.

We are the wildlife managers and can take our hunters here. This location has black rhino.
