After losing election after election since 2002, the German sociopaths......errrrrr......socialists and their tree-hugging green cronies finally caved in to the tremendous political pressure of the German firearms lobby!
Since today April 01 2004 all German citizens 18 years or older (with the exception of convicted felons) have the right to carry firearms in public, open or concealed. No permit necessary!
It is now legal to own unlimited quantities of firearms of all conceivable calibers, appearances and constructions (including submachineguns, full-automatic assault rifles and heavy machine guns).
Only those persons, who want to buy rocket launchers, flamethrowers, heavy artillery with HEI-projectiles or nuclear weaponry still have to apply for a government permit, which is obtainable on a "shall issue" basis.
