Anyone know where I can find a short barrel for my duck gun?? I thought about buying a new full barrel and having my smith cut it down, but would rather find a "factory" 18.5''

not positive, but i don't think mossberg makes anything less than a 24" for the 835. also if you decide to have one cut, you might want to check with someone knowledgeable on this. the 835 barrels are all overbored. i have no knowledge or experience but was thinking if you cut one to 18" it may throw some odd patterns. also with the cost of buying a new barrel and having a smith cut it down, you may be better off just finding a good used 500 or 870 with the shorter bbl.

I have an 835, and a 590A1 with the 18.5 inch barrel. For what it's worth, the barrels fit each other, though no 3.5 inch shells in the 590A1 obviously, and Mossberg told me that while it is possible to do they don't recommend it.
