Anyone have any experience with Galco WheelGunner Holster for S&W N-Frame with 4" barrel?

I have a Galco holster for my 5" S&W 629. Great product.

Galco holsters are first rate in my book. I recommend that you have a gunsmith remove the sharp edges on the face of the cylinder which will help in holstering the gun and will eliminate taking leather off the inside of your new holster. Some revolvers have this done at the factory and some do not.

I own a few Galco products, but not that holster specifically.

The nice thing about Galco products us that I can walk into my LGS and pick up a holster anytime I want. And they're decent products. After two years of carry my Summer special copy is starting to show some serious wear.

But I bought a custom holster last year for just a few bucks more than I paid for my Galco products. I got twice the quality for maybe $20 more, and a small wait.

So yes, they're readily available, and they're decent quality, but a little pricey for a production holster that will last you some time, but not nearly as long as a custom.

Had one and sold it it seemed to me even brand new the leather loop was letting the gun tip out I figured it would get worse as the holster broke in

I looked at getting one of these for a while, but I have heard they are "tippy" and tend to feel unstable…

Check out simply rugged holsters. Thats the route I went for the L and N frame. Very pleased.

Another inexpensive option at reasonable turn around times is Ray @ Lobo Gun Leather. Worth a look for your revolver needs :)

BSA1: I have that holster. It looks great and fits perfectly. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the other snap wasn't covered. I called Galco to see if they'd send another snap to me and they would not. So I just put a brass one on and all's well.
