Hybrid Pistol-Revolver

I just got a DAO pistol framed revolver with manual safety or, if you prefer, a DAO revolver with a pistol frame and a manual safety. I believe it was made by Francisco Arizmendi of Spain for the German market as it is similar to a Geco (Genshow & Co) model on page 154 of the excellent Zhuk's Encyclopedia of Firearms. Zhuk's book shows some French models that are similar, too. It is a low serial number so formal ID's are almost entirely missing. Lots of symbols though.

The grip is logoed FA and some other marks echo FA. So far I can't match anything to Spain, Germany or France.

The frame says "CAl32m/m." A quick check shows .32acp, .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Magnum all fit the chambers but I'm not about to fire any without good advice.

Does anyone have experience with hybrids like this? Its a very interesting design, solid construction, very tight and clean.

Thanks, Herb
