I have a friend who's husband just passed away, and she knew of this handgun that he had kept under the bed. She let me take a few looks and take several detailed pictures. He's not around to ask about it, and I'm told it looks much like a Browning and it is likely a clone. I did my best to get specific details with the pictures but if you need a specific spot I didn't cover, let me know and I'll try to get over there within the week.

Thanks for checking it out!

Here are a couple more pictures. I can't re-upload the pictures I post the last thread I made. I was advised to look for Browning experts once we established that was the model/clone of this gun.

Here's the link to my last post, with a few more pictures not in this post.

As stated several times in your previous post, the gun is a Hungarian FEG clone gun.
The Slide stop, slide stop notch, and serial number prefix are dead giveaways.

By the way.
The slide stop from that pistol can be used on most FN/Browning High Powers.
The FN/Browning slide stop will NOT fit your gun.

I have heard that some FEG's were made without markings, but that gun seems to have had the markings removed by heavy sanding/buffing. Any thoughts on the reason? (I know the old spy stories (CIA, KGB, Mossad, etc., but surely any gun so easily identified by the folks here would be as easily identified by police).

Or did someone remove the markings so he could get big bucks by selling a super secret CIA gun instead of an ordinary FEG?

Are you saying that's an issue with his particular model or with all FEG Hi Power clones?

Just his particular version.
I have one of them also.
Earlier FEGs that use the FN type slide stop with the slide stop notch protector are completely interchangeable with FN/Browning guns. HTH

That makes sense. I knew mine was an older model, and it works fine. I'm just not nearly as up to speed as some of you guys at deciphering which.

Thanks!

Agree with Onmilo... I think it could be a Hungarian FEG.
Here's two of mine... similar. All of my FEGs have a serial# on the inside grip beginning with 'B'.
