Here is a little youtube review I did. I think the mp shield is a great gun. What is most impressive is the small size and slim grip yet the ability to get a full grip on the gun with the 8 round magazine.

Im usually not a fan of such small guns but when it feel as good in hand as the shield the size does not concern me.

What do you guys think about the shield?

I love my shield. While I live in nj and can only carry ever so often to free America, the shield is the first gun I would grab out of all the other guns I've shot so far. Admittedly that is nowhere near the same number as some of you guys

I feel exactly the same wolverine. And mind you, my EDC is a glock 17.

The Shield is an excellent pistol and my choice for an EDC. It's by far the most enjoyable small pistol I've had the chance to shoot.

Nice job on the video. The Shield is my number one choice for a carry pistol. Flat feels good in the hand and has been 100% reliable. I find it fun to shoot also. Took years to find a carry gun I like this much. That's not to say I don't use my XDS or Glock 26 also. :D

If i was going to carry something as thick as a glock 26 i would probably just go a little bigger and carry the sig P6.

with how thin the shield is it really disappears even with a tshirt

That's interesting, I also use the 26 and XDS, along with the PM9, the shield is a good little gun in 9mm, I had a 40 and it was one of the ones that kept dropping the mag, the 9mm didn't have the problem, it was about as easy as my Kahr to carry.

I've had my Shield 2 years next month. Great gun. Close to 2500 rounds thru mine. Shoots like a much larger gun. Only subcompact I have ever owned over the years that I actually LIKE to shoot

The Shield in 9mm is a fantastic carry option, I really enjoy mine. I have given a lot of thought to the ideal carry package and what I run now is a Glock 30s, loaded 1 down on the 10 round mag + a spare Glock 21 mag topped right up. I found over time I just feel better with the .45 caliber and I can deal with the added bulk of the package I am carrying.

Thats alot of rounds, did it have a break in period and become more accurate over time?

It took me a little while to get good with the gun. I discovered that if I put my trigger finger in contact with the trigger - all the way up to the first finger joint, I didn't pull my shots to the side. After that, I was good to go.

No real break in period at all. It's much more enjoyable to shoot than the Kahr PM9 I had previous to the Shield. I sold my Kahr after the very first range session with my Shield.

Is the trigger really better than the other mp's, I have not shot the mp line that much

I had the problem of pulling shots and shooting left, but today I really concentrated on what I was doing and moved the trigger finger in more and got great results. I was on the verge of trading the Shield, but now it has a reprieve and with more practice it could move to the front of the line.

It always takes some time to get use to a new gun. training is vital

Sure. IWB or OWB?

Something, good or bad, can be learned from all videos.

I love my shield 9 and you can't even tell I'm wearing it iwb with my crossbreed holster and I'm a slinder build only 145 5'10. It shoots great for me. My fiance said the trigger pinched her finger. I've not experienced this but oh well

Went back to the range today and group was much tighter, still slightly to the left and I know it's operator fault. Now I'm considering the apex trigger kit but don't know if it will make that much difference. I'm thinking this one is a keeper.

the apex trigger should help. But, if your taking your time with each shot you should be able to hit where you want without the apex trigger

I like my Shield, but it had a horrible trigger out of the box. So much so, that the front sight would wiggle around like a tuning fork when the trigger breaks. I did the trigger job shown on Dan Burwell's web site and all is now good. :)

how many rounds did you have through it before you did the trigger job?

I wish I had brighter yellow but I'll redo it when I get some. I was more excited about how the M&P turned out

Lucky guy! :) I painted mine green florescent, and the dots on the rear flat black.

For bright paints cheap, go to Sally Beauty Supply and look at the "Finger Paints" brand nail polish. One will do a lifetime's worth of gun sights. They have all kinds of "neon" colors.

Anyone have the viridian laser,light/holster, set up. Veridian makes it for the shield now. It automatically turns the laser light or both on when you draw the gun from the holster, you cab set it for however you want it to work.

Depends on the person. Different people have varying sensitivity to different colors. A lot of males have serious issues with red/green.
