Highroad.org recently opened a pair of new forums intended to keep members up-to-date on the latest in arms-related legislation. One, Congressional Watch, focuses on Federal-level legislation. The other, State Legislative Watch, focuses on "the several States."

If you have additions or corrections you wish to submit for the Congressional Watch forum, please PM Beren.

We need volunteers to assist with maintaining the State Legislative Watch forum. We would like to recruit a handful of members to act as "regional editors" who organize and process submissions concerning states in their region. Regional editors would be responsible for fact-checking and preparing notices based on a template the forum moderator (Beren) provides.

Volunteers submit bill alerts to their regional editor, who prepares a notice. The RE would then submit the thread. The forum moderator would double-check and stamp the thread approved, at which point it would become visible for viewing.

We are currently in need of editors for the following regions:

Northeast (CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT)
South Atlantic (DC, DE, FL, GA, MD, NC, SC, VA, WV)
Pacific (AK, CA, HI, OR, WA)

If the workload becomes too heavy, we will split the regions up further. My expectation is that the load will be heavy for a few weeks as we bring the forum up to date with existing legislation, then trail off as the year moves onward.

If you are interested in volunteering your time as a regional editor, please PM me (Beren).

If you would like to volunteer your time as a state-level volunteer, please keep an eye on the State Legislative Watch forum for who to contact.

Well if your from PA you probable won't need another PA guy. I'm always ready to help, though.

We are easing the SLW forum into full-swing production.

Before you post, please check the below list to see who the regional editor is for the state concerned. PM or e-mail your submission to the editor and they will process it for posting in the forum.

If you are interested in becoming a state volunteer, please contact the regional editor for your state.

Please do not post directly to this forum unless you are a regional editor.

!! We are still in need of a regional editor for the Pacific states! Currently they are grouped with the West region. !!

Thanks to everyone who expressed interest. We will need your continued support to make the forum a useful, timely resource.

How about an International legislation and issues forum, seeing as there are so many foreign subscribers.
The insight and information that they can contribute would perhaps be eye-opening and might possibly be outrageous.

Thanks for your consideration....
