Make a 92FS that has dovetailed sights like the Brigadier, and have a circumsized barrel like the Vertec???

Decock-only a plus.

What can't Beretta make the 9000 in single-stack?

Why can't Beretta...... make a Tactical model.

Don't they know that they are missing out on a huge market??

Well, at least we know that one person would buy one..:neener:

Because it you got everything you wanted in one gun, in one simple purchase, you'd stop buying stuff. This way, you have to keep buying & tinkering until you find the mix that fits ;)

Yes, but I'd like to order a set of different sights and experiment without having to send it out every time....and don't want to pay more to have someone else do it!

perhaps i mis-understand...how are the dovetailed sights of the vertec different from those on the brig. besides the flattened backstrap and accessory rail, the big thing about the vertec is the addition of a dovetailed front sight

if you want the de-cocker, you'll want the 92G Vertec

Isn't the Centurion a compact?

92G is LE only unless you count the Elite IA. The sights are different on the Vertec, AFAIK, as Trijicon offers different models for the Brig, Vertec, and a coupon to send in a 92FS slide to Tooltech.

AFSIK the dovetail on the front of the vertec is a standard dovetail and the aftermarket sights can be just tapped in as the rear is already dovetailed.

the need for a different front sight between the vertec and the brig would be a height difference. the bridge over the front of the slide of the brig raises the front sight, the coresponding rear sight is taller to maintain POA/POI. if you are experimenting with a different set of sights (changing both the front and rear) i would thing POI would be constant (i might be wrong...sounds funny) or you could just order a shorter front sight to go with the standard rear.

the "G thang" is a bit more difficult...i guess you'd have to wait for a LEO to get tired of his and sell it to you as a "used gun" or become an officer yourself :p

Skunk - think of the Centurion as the "Commander" of the 9X series from Beretta. It has the fullsize frame & a somewhat compact barrel/slide. You can still use your Elite's mags in it. Next time I see ya, you can check out mine ;)

Centurion has a 4.3" barrel and full size frame. The sights are standard Beretta, ISFA the front is part of the slide. For me the bummer is the Centurion never was available in Inox.

I wonder if an Inox Compact top end would be able to be mated to a Centurion frame? Hmmm?

A number of the D model Centurions have come on the market recently. Are these PD trades/turn-ins?

Beretta Cougar 8010F, a 10mm Cougar... Hmmm, not sure how the alloy frame of the Cougar series would hold up under the type of stresses that the 10mm puts out.

But, it would be nice...

Why can't Beretta make a 10mm?

Like most manufacturers, it's probably a question of demand. Why make a pistol chambered for such a niche caliber? They're all appealing to the masses to generate the most sales

A Vertec slide mated to a 92FS seems like the easiest way to go....

While less Berettaey, I really like the circumsized barrel look of the Elite and Vertecs.

Vertec slide is non-Brig/Elite profile and still has the dovetailed front sight. It is, ISFAIK, a full size only slide. Can it be mated with a 92/96 frame?

I'd also like to see a Compact EliteII or Brigadier, in Inox of course. Not a fan of the Vertec though, as the straight backstrap and I aren't as good a fit as the standard 92/96 backstrap.

Skunk,
Yeah the Centurion is compact but I didn't know that was out of the running. I was also thinking about the rear sight being dovetailed and I forgot about the front.

I like the full size slide. If I wanted compact, I'll go P7!

Full size table leg 9mm anvil...BERETTA!!!

Besides, no Centurions in CA anyway. I'd love to get my grubby paws on a 92G standard.

Can't they be found on sites like gunbroker.com? If I can find a CA legal SOCOM for sale, why not a couple 92 varients?

Why can't Beretta make more pistols like the Combat/Stock with the frame mounted saftey for C&L?

Why can't Beretta make my 92 mags fit my 9000s!?!?!?!? I gotta say I think that was a lame decision.

The 92 mags do fit the 9000, but you need an adapter for the extended mag to act normally. See Beretta's website for details.

Skunk,

I'll second(third, fourth, ...?) the use of the Border Marshall/Elite/EliteII length(4.7") barrel. It just looks better than having the 4.9" barrel with the little barrel stub hanging out from the front of the standard length slide.

Why not use an EliteII barrel? The other way would be a BarSto or KKM shortened to 4.7" with a target/recessed crown job.

Hmmm, if that's in a standard 92/96 slide, that might run afoul of the BoD of IDPA for SSP, as in "Externally visible modifications other than grips or sights". Probably move you to ESP. That's if you shoot IDPA.

AFM, Beretta can keep the 9000, YUCK!!

Yeah but thats my point, I dont want to have to put the rubber booty on my mag. I just think they could thought that out a little better.

The reason why you have to buy that little extra... is so you BUY that little extra.

It's all about money. How much of your can they make theirs.

But, you already knew that.

There are so many things I'd do, if only I had the money...:D
