Ahh, a simple trick.

When you type the ... blocks, just add an "=member name" to the first "QUOTE."

Like this: ..., which comes out as

I'm not getting which part you aren't getting.

1. the "type"
2. the "quote blocks"
3. the "add ="
4. the "member name"
5. the "first Quote"

You're going to have to be more specific as to which part confuses you

According to post #6, he got it. He wasn't putting the =name inside the square brackets.

Why doesn't THR use vBulletin's quote button feature?

We do. There's a quote button right above the posting box, and it will put your blocks in for you.

If you mean a fully automatic quoting feature? We decided a long while back that we didn't want that here. We'd rather folks, well honestly, had to work a little to get a quote in rather than hitting the quote button and posting all that quoted text stacked up on top of their, "Yeah, +1!!!!" comment.

As it turns out, it wasn't a bad idea. Most folks get it pretty quickly and we don't have to deal with the billboards full of quoted text many forums are plagued with.

Yeah, I meant full auto. You would've thought that if any group was in favor of full auto...

Anyhow, I can appreciate how annoying the long quote/short comment can be.
