What are you hoping to get out of the hammer change? Not to be a smart aleck, but unless you're already one of the fastest accurate shooters in your IPSC class and are looking for marginally shorter split times, I doubt you'll notice ANY difference.

If you want it cause it's a pretty trick looking hammer - which it is, then knock yourself out. :p

Edit - spelling... Stupid!

Things like, swapping out any one part of the main three trigger group
components without tending to all three. (Hammer, Sear, Disconnect)
If the sear primary angle and the hammer hook angles agree, you're
golden. If they don't, you could wind up with either a very heavy trigger
or an uncontrolled full-auto event.

Just so's ya know...

Oh yeah... I've always been told if you replace one (sear or hammer) on a gun that has a good trigger job, both should generally be replaced and a new trigger job should be done.

The STIs come with very decent triggers and I'd imagine someone actually set those angles and did some polishing rather than just throwing some parts into the frame. As Tuner said, if replacing the hammer, I'd plan on replacing the sear as well and having them properly fitted, stoned and polished.

:)
