I have longed for a P7 since the early 80's and have never had the $$$ to pick one up...until today. Stopped by my dealers on the way to the range and low and behold he had a police refurb p7psp for 699. The internals are like new, appears to have been fired very little. Needs refinishing (I'm thinking Hard Chrome), but shoots like a dream. I see what all the fuss is about. The trigger is Mega crisp, as good or better than any of my 1911's. Very accurate. Below is the pistol and a group at 15 yards, fired as quickly as I could reaquire site picture. If you get a chance to pick one of these up jump on it!!

Any Suggestions on where to find spare mags and who does good hard chrome work?

I can get one of the P7 Police trade-ins for $725 out the door at a local vendor (95%) with two magazines. But although I like the P7 as you do, it's performance doesn't make it worth the money to me but then their's no used auto pistol worth that kind of money. There are plenty of great 9mm's out there for a great deal less money. The pistol's still there at the vendors, if I change my mind I can always go get it. Around here $725 don't come easy, good price or not. I had one 15 years ago and traded it away.

I have a P7M8, and they're neat guns, but there's no way the trigger of a P7 will match a good 1911.

:) Go to www.parkcitiestactical.com look up the section "Cult of the P7", there you will find many FAQ about the P7 series and where to go for HC, holsters, mags etc. I like them or else I wouldn't own five, soon to be six. Oh, IMHO after shooting them for 9 yrs the trigger is good for me, however it will not equal an Ed Brown Kobra for smooth letoff and reset.

The key word being MY. Your 1911 variant may have the perfect trigger, mine have merely good triggers. I have very lightly moded 1911's with nice crisp carry triggers. Not Big Dollar customs or Semi-customs. I love my 1911's...I carry one every day, I am in no way dogging them, but the P7 in my safe also has a SWEEEET trigger.

$1k+ does seem a bit much for a compact 9mm pistol, but the p7 is IMO the finest compact 9mm made.

i only have 2. one (PSP) bought new for $370 when they were first introduced and another (refurb M8) that i picked up for $680 recently. i also highly recommend the "cult of the P7" over on "park cities tactical"

Congrats on your P7. They are fine pistols. I have a P7M8 and a P7PSP and love how safe these pistols are without any exterior safeties. Though they have pretty decent triggers, they are not quite like MY 1911's...but plenty good for a combat handgun.

They're making me think that the triggers on my 1911 must STINK!. Maybe I need to send them off to a smith or maybe I just don't have a very discerning index finger.:D
