I an not sure in which forum this should be posted. I have been shooting for a long time, carry every day and now have to get hearing aids. I have a number of styles of hearing protection but none seem to work with my new aids. Taking the hearing aids off and on is not practical since I farm and use 'muffs' a number of times during the day and I need to be able to hear my workers.

I wear hearing aids and have for years, I really prefer the behind the ear aids but that requires removing them when wearing muffs. Just the nature of the beast.

Don't know what to tell you other than just live with it.

Are you shooting frequently enough, and at scattered intervals, that this is really a nuisance? If you can stop to put on hearing protection, how much more of a hassle is it to pop off your bionic ears first?

The real issue is I use the same hearing protection when I shoot and when I am running one of the tractors or mowing and to take the bionic ears off and then put on again when I have to give instructions is not practical. Also a lot of the time when I am shooting I am teaching children again the off / on is a pain.

Have you tried electronic ear muffs? Those amplify normal level sounds, but have circuitry that cuts them off the amplification of higher level sounds to protect hearing.
