Power Pistol has worked fine for.me with 185Grain Nosler JHPs. I used Speer Gold Dot data and worked up to 9 Gr of Power Pistol. This is over max with Nosler's new data but it worked fine for me. It gives a rather spectacular fireball but is very accurate and shoots good in my full size M & P.:fire:

You load HAPs exactly the same as XTPs of the same weight. They even have the same point of impact.

Exactly. HAPs are just like XTPs except they won't expand in flesh as well.

The HAP's are missing the fine (vertical) cuts that's needed for expansion.

Here is a link to Hornady HAP bullet. http://www.hornady.com/store/HAP-Hornady-Action-Pistol

Here is the description on how they are built.

Modeled after the legendary XTP bullet design, HAP (Hornady Action Pistol) bullets are further refined into the perfect competition projectile. While XTP bullets use folds and a cannelure to aid in controlled expansion and terminal performance, we have eliminated these from HAP bullets leaving only a sleek and balanced projectile with a protected nose that aids in consistent and reliable feeding in autos.

Bullet jackets feature industry-leading concentricity combined with precision swaged cores to deliver the very best in accuracy and performance. Don’t just compete – win with Hornady HAP pistol bullets.

I have loaded the 230 gr. HAP in .45ACP, and the 180 gr. HAP in 10mm without any issues. Just use the XTP load data and you will be fine.

This question have been well answered several times already.

And I agree totally.

Hornady Action Pistol (HAP) bullets ARE XTP bullets without the expansion jacket enhancements of the XTP.

They use XTP load data, because they are the same bullet in shape & weight.

The HAPs are especially good in pistol-caliber carbines with near-max loads. Super consistent.
