Got some speed for sure but in Reality what is the point? Just to get another odd ball cartridge out there or am i missing something.

The point is: Faster than a 220 swift with less throat erosion.

Plus, unless it has inherent accuracy problems, it shoud ring up a decent tally of varmits in short order.

The specs on this round remind me of the Tactical-20 wildcat, based on a .223 Rem case necked down to .204. However, because the parent case is really different, you can't accidentally stuff a .223 Rem in a gun chambered for this round. I've shot a Tactial 20 and it's sweet. I don't do wildcats personally (don't reload), so a commercial round with similar specs has my interest up. Then again, I still need to get a .17 HMR...

I was told that the 220 swift throat erosion was blow way out or proportion. Also read it in a book too that most of the proples were the steel when it first came out and people just cranking the rounds way up hand loading and letting the barrel overheat and that did it.

Ill wait on the 204 to see some reviews here first before i decide on If i want one or not.

tc300mag1, you might be right. I got the reduced throat erosion out a ruger brochure on the 204.

In talking to the guys at Cooper about this cartridge, they specifically said that TE was not a problem. We'll know in about a month...
