Very cool Bob. Iguess my Blackhawk still has plenty of life left in her.

WONDERFUL BOB, you just got it broken in now.

That is awesome! I love my Blackhawks and don't care if they are slightly porcine. I enjoy the fact that they can last a mighty long time!

LOVE the Blackhawk!

14gr HS-6 is that a hot load? I'm thinking seriously about reloading for my .45C blackhawk and I'd like to find one load that I can both hunt and practice with.

Not porcine at all. Looks svelte to my eyes.

That's pretty cool.
I kind of wish I'd have kept up with round count with my NM Blackhawk in .45 Colt.

If I had to guess, I'd say 800 rounds or so at this point. Not a single one of them have been factory loaded.

14.6 grs. HS-6 gives me about 1150 fps out of my Blackhawks, which as I recall was an average velocity for 7 1/2" and 4 5/8" barrels. So out of a 7 1/2" barrel its a pretty good load up to white tails.

13.0gr of HS-6 behind my handcast 265gr SWC HP is one of my favorite loads for my S&W 25-5.

Glad you finally got that thing broken in. I'll bet you can't wear it out in the next 27 years no matter how hard you try. Those Blackhawks are tough.

Congratulations! Any problems to report during the break-in period :D?

Great looking and performing Blackhawk!

The fact that your Ruger has surpassed the 20,000 round mark does not surprise me at all. Ruger's reputation for toughness is well deserved. I doubt that you can ever wear that gun out, and I don't think it is broken in yet; that will take another twenty thousand.....

I have a SBH 44 mag I bought new in 1986 or 1987 that has had a good 6K - 7K 296 loads through it, but 20K is certainly a good testament to the degree of quality Ruger has built.

Awesome, now all you need to do is finish getting it broken in! They really do build them like a tanks.

Now that you've got it broke in, you need to get to the range and do some serious shooting.;)

There have been several of you who have asked concerning repairs.

At about 6,000 rounds or so, the transfer bar broke. Easily replaced, and no further problems with this gun.
