Will a S&W 4066 extractor fit a S&W 410 or 411 series pistol?

I need an extractor for a S&W 411 pistol and have located one here from a contact in Houston. The pistol is my Daughter's and I won't have access to it for about a week. She's carrying a .38 Bodyguard for her CHL right now but would like to have the .40 operational again. I don't want to buy this thing and not be able to use it.
Thanks...Bexar

I've moved this to gunsmithing and repairs. Hopefully someone here can give you a concrete answer.

You might register at one of these forums and ask -

http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/

Probably get a faster answer there. There are a couple other S&W forums that I don't have links to, but should be easy to find.

I offered some more detailed info over on one of the S&W forums where you posted this question.

Since you provided more info on this forum, aside from the info I posted elsewhere about how extractors are fitted and spring tension checked for any particular repaired gun, I'd suggest calling and asking about the 411 being repaired by either S&W or one of their warranty stations (especially if she's the original owner).

From what I've heard the backlog for factory repairs is running several months, but one of the warranty stations might offer something faster. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_750001_750051_757819_-1_757814_757812_image

While replacing & fitting an extractor (and maybe the spring) isn't for the untrained kitchen-table hobbyist lacking the tools (gauges) and some experience, it's a relatively straight-forward repair for a gunsmith or armorer familiar with working on 3rd gen pistols. It's only a little more complicated working on a 411, as I've been told that some production runs apparently had changes in slide mass, which I was told could affect the extractor spring selected for use. (Hence, the use of the force dial gauge for checking tension.)

fastbolt...thank-you for the information. Every gun smith I've talked to and even Smith & Wesson say the 411 extractors are not available. I hope this one will work. I'll let y'all know.
