I was asked today if the two cartridges are the same, I assume they are. I also know what ass of you and me means. Would appreciate any help in answering the question correctly.

Thanks folks, that's what I thought, a friend bought a sporterized rifle at a gun show and all the seller told him it was a 7mm mauser, the gun shop I work at didn't have any 7mm mauser or 7X57mm mauser ammo for that matter. Anyway I do believe he is still looking.

Rigby in England sold Mauser sporters under their own name. They were proofed as ".275 Rigby." Gave it a bit more class than "7x57 Mauser..."
