Hi-Point concern

During my sighting in session this evening, I noticed something that I had seen the last time I took the Hi-Point carbine out. There was smoke coming from around the received/stock junction above the rear grip. It was also coming from the breech, both on the extractor side and on the operating lever side.
I just cleaned the gun for the first time with no apparent problems in reassembly.
Did I just miss this smoke escaping the last time? Do I need to go back and check for oil residue?

probably just oil/solvent burning off. i wouldn't concern myself w/ it. you should note, though, that this will affect accuracy quite a bit, until you get it burned off, and the bore re-fouled.

The gun still seemed to be shooting good groups at 25 yards, though low and to the left as noted in my question regarding sighting in. Groups might be a strong word....more like making a big hole:cool:
Thanks for the reassurances though. I like the gun a lot....but it IS a $150.00 gun when new and they DO have to cut corners some where (though I haven't found too many). I don't want to be the subject of a "Hi-Point KB story"
