I want opinions on which you think is the best Carry piece between the 2...I just put a 225 in the layaway but may have to go ahead and get the 239...but the 225 just fits my hand.

Sounds like you made the right decision. One question, did you try both at the range? Sometimes what fits in the shop doesn't work at the range.:)

Hold both in the shop-----------------pick a focus point----------close your eyes--take a breath and when you open them again see which points better.........................I have the 225-----------better hand feel for me---a smaller hand may prefer the 239.
Either one is a quality piece!!

I own the 239. Similar in size to the 225, but I wanted the 40/357 power. In 9mm and in that size my gun of preference is the HKP7 either the M8 or PSP.

I've got one of each in 9mm. As you know, the 225 is just a tad longer in barrel and grip, and it does, indeed, feel better in hand, but I shoot the 239 better, probably because I've also owned it longer and practiced more with it. It is just a wee bit more 'concealable', but I'm a big guy and i can hide either..
All 'n all, you can't go wrong with either, and if I were starting from square one, I'd go with the 225 because it is a better fit, and therefore more controlable and accurate in the long run. HTH.

You might hear people hitting the floor as they realize someone is pointing a weapon with their eyes closed, but...:D
I have both and carry based on how I dress.
If I am wearing a jacket or sweater or some other over garment, the 225 comes along.
Just a shirt, the 239 gets the call.

Go with fit.
I went for the 239
28 oz in a Comp-Tac holster disappears
357/40 option
Hogue Finger grips
Haven't found it to be any less reliable than any other SIG

I don't own any Sigs, (yet) but a good friend owns several. The one complaint he had was rust on the non stainless guns. I believe the 225 is blued steel, and the 239 is a blackened stainless. For close-to-the-body carry I'd think the 239 would have the edge.

True, SIG's blued guns are known for a delicate type
finish. :( But, if the owner/operator does their part
of providing periodic inspection/cleaning/maintenance
this IS NOT a problem. Two of my SIG's are 10 years
old or better; both are blued West German production
guns, and both show only normal wear. As the cost of
firearms keep rising; I make sure that I give mine lots
of TLC! :uhoh:  :D

Both are excellent pistols. Personally, I went with the P239. I did find the factory grips to be a bit too small for me at the range, but some beautiful Hogue wood grips took care of that issue.

i had both, but sold the P239 and bought a 3rd P225.
the P225's just fit better, go with the P239 if you want a .40 or .357

Both are large for their magazine capacity.
The 225 and Glock 19 are about the same size, but the Glock holds twice as much ammo.

Shame on you! Blasphemy! Thou shalt not compare that plastic firearm with the hideous grip to my beloved p225 with the fine balance and wonderful grip. I do not need 15.

Indeed it does. I can not argue with that fact.

I have shot just the P239 and my pinky slipped off the grip and I couldnt hit much with it, but it functioned well as all sigs do. I just have massive hands. I have been thinking of the 225 too.

I have both. The P225 is in 9x19 of course and the P239 is in .40.
The P239 conceals so incredibly well it's amazing. It is extremely accurate and soaks up recoil like a gun twice it's size and weight. Even though I am not a caliber snob and I do carry .38s, 9mms, etc. I must say I feel more comfortable with the .40 or .45. That being the case the P239 in .40 gets my nod as a carry gun.
My P225 is just sooooooooooooo comfortable. More so then my P239 and it just has a classic look to it. I have used my P225 in my first IPSC competition and did very well so the capacity did not seem to hinder me. My only real complaint is that the trigger is the stiffest of all my SIGs and I have found this to be a P225 trait. Not a problem for a defensive gun IMO but takes some of the fun out of plinking or target shooting.
Bottom line they are SIGs. They will each be spectacular. Get the one that fits you best and run with it. The P225 is comfortable and a classic.
My two cents.

Well I solved my problem...I am going to get both...I have already gotten the 225 because they are rare in my area. I have ran upon a 228 with 4 Hicap clips so the 239 may have to wait a few months before I get it...later I plan to add a 229 and a 226...I am unsure about the 245....I have heard good and bad about it...but my favorite is still the 220...thanks for all the input guys
