Went to the range yesterday to check out a new Beretta. Fired 50 round of Winchester 180 gr. FMJ from Wall Mart. The first 10 rds were from the bench at 25 yds. Point of aim (pumpkin on the post sight picture) was point of impact. First 10 shot group was 2.6" (score of 97-5X). I think the gun can do better with better ammo and more wear on the trigger.
Then I went two hand standing and thing got interesting, let just say I used all the target and leave it at that. I'll need to practice.
This is a well made firearm with little to complain about but I'm going to anyway. The single action trigger requires way to many pounds to trip. The double action is even but long. The slide mounted de-cock is hard to reach, needs to be on the frame.
Fit and finish is great and for $850 it ought to be. Balance is good, is on the heavy side but I like that. Recoil was not a problem. Sight are good but came w/o white dots.
This gun has potential so I'll be buying the dies and working up a "lead" cheap & accurate load for it, any help with the load from you guys would be appreciated. I'm looking at 180 swc mainly because that is what seems to be common.
