I saw in Handgunlaw.us that NM is still not honoring Kentucky's CCW.:fire: Does anyone know the current status of the situation?

As we see here (http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html), New Mexico still does not recognize Kentucky. You can easily Open Carry there. I have done it for years.

You just have to be very wary of that 1,000 foot Gun Free School Zone.

NM doesn't honor my CCP either. I plan on spending a considerable amount of time in NM this winter. I will just OC when I'm there and go on about my business. I prefer to CC but if the state of NM would rather me OC that's fine with me. I don't understand why they would do that because one is still armed and OC sometimes grates on the more sensitive, less open minded citizens of the urban areas but I don't make the rules.

Note that it appears that New Mexico will honor an Arizona permit. It would be relatively easy to obtain a non-resident Arizona permit (http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Concealed_Weapons/Permits/Obtain/). It may be done entirely by mail.
