Favorite recurve?

I swore off compound bows in favor of my longbow almost 10 years ago, but I've thought of adding a recurve lately. Suggestions for either bowyers or production models? I'd probably be willing to spend up to five bills ... if it was purty too.;)

See, now, just from reading the thread title and without reading the actual post itself, my initial thought was "Emerson Commander"... :o
Shows where my mind is...

Have a Bear takedown recurve I bought in the late 80s. It's a workhorse, but ugly, so may not be up your alley.

I once handled and shot a Ghost recurve from Great Northern Longbow Co in MI and was very impressed by its looks and performance - it was almost as light as a fiberglass longbow and handled well and shot fast and flat. I've always had buying one in the back of my mind, and I found their site after a little searching - looks like the price ($600) is more than you want to spend - and out of my reach as well, too bad, I guess I'll have to make do with homemade self-bows. I WILL consider buying my boys their kid's bow if nothing else - they say they sell them at cost ($125) to encourage getting kids into traditional archery, which is awful good of them. I know from experience that my self-bows don't hold up real well to use by youngsters.:D
