Has anyone had any luck with these ?
I tried these in my 30-06 & found they were useless ( highly inaccurate)
I stayed .under S..A.M.M.I. specs with 25 rounds & had bad results.
Used once fired shell casings only.
Neck sized only, not full length.
Used .224 55 GR V-Max Hornandy XTP Varmint #22713
Runout on cartriges were non existant ( No Wabble )
These were given to me & seem useless...

Want to know of anyone else has had any luck with these being accurate.
In the 30-06 data speeds are supposed to be around 4000 f.p.s.
I really don't trust theses at all.
Thought they were cool, and would be fun to try...

My two .30-06s both did very well with the Remington Accelerator™ when I tried them. Both rifles run ¾-1 inch with their favorite loads, both opened up to 1-1¼ inch with the Accelerator™. Check out E. Authur Brown C. Inc. (http://www.eabco.com/reload02.html) as one source of the sabots. Brown also provides a link (http://www.eabco.com/ftrpt.html) to reloading data.

Did you have the special seating die that they show on the link posted above or were you seating the sabots by hand? That could make a signifigant differance. The loss of accuracy is a bit troubling but these have always interested me. I hear you need to keep a squeaky clean bore with these to be consistant. As in pulling a bore snake through every 5 rounds or so. Can't remember where I heard it though.

Sorry for the delayed response, the new job keeps me out through the week. My Accelerator experience is with the factory loads, not handloads. My only sabot handloading experience is with 20 Teflon sabots we turned out in a shop from a rod we found in a "scrap" bin. Turns out the rod was not scrap and our sabots cost the taxpayers over $5 each. Who knew?

I had the same results as Cop with my handloaded sbots in my .30-06. I used the special seating die, but my groups measured around 2 feet (yes, FEET) at 50 yards.

I finally gave up and bought a Savage model 12 FVSS in .223 Rem. Easily shoots under an inch at 100 yards.
