I've got a friend that wants to trade/sell his Sigma v40 for something smaller in 9mm. He found a used pt-111 for $300 is this a fair price? What has been your experience with the pt-111? I went by and looked at it, it seemed like it would be a good little CCW piece but the trigger would take a lot of getting use to.

I picked mine up new for about $325, so depending on your area $300 used may or may not be a good deal. The trigger pull is very long, there are also a lot of people here who have had problems with them, I'm not one of them but I'm sure the others will chime in soon to help you out. If it functions good and he can hit well with it I'd probably go for it. Personally I can't hit well with it outside of 7ft but I think that's just because I don't shoot compacts that much.

My local GM store has a used Pt140 stainless for $240.00. I realllllllly wanted to buy one until I read the bad reports here, and elsewhere. I'm pretty sure the 140 is a little more than the 111 new, so you can take the price FWIW. You could always hope that Taurus will make it right, but, that might be a crap shoot.
Right now I'm eyeing the P3AT Kel Tec. They seem to be pretty reliable, or, if not, respond well to the fluff and buff.

I bought a pt111 for $329 new. :barf:

I wouldn't repeat the act. SHould have held out for the millenium pro; I hear the trigger is much better. But I think it is the end of the road for me for DAO.
